Planned, Stock & DAF Giving

Your investment creates bright futures. Have a greater impact than you ever thought possible.

Planned, stock, and donor-advised fund (DAF) gifts offer you the opportunity to support vital programs in a meaningful way without making a large, outright gift. In addition to offering substantial tax-savings, these giving vehicles can create a lasting legacy for you and your family at Stevenson High School.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities

By transferring appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual-fund shares you’ve owned for more than one year to the Foundation, you both support students and families in our community and are eligible for an income tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities on the date of transfer. In addition, you can reduce your capital gains impact.

Beneficiary Gifts

Naming the Foundation as the beneficiary of a qualified retirement plan asset such as a 401(k), 403(b), IRA, Keogh, profit-sharing pension plan, or other donor-advised funds, will generously ensure that the Foundation’s mission and programs will continue for generations to come while realizing significant tax savings.

Charitable Ira Rollover

If you are more than 70 and half years old, you can make a gift directly from your IRA to the Foundation. While there is no charitable deduction for a rollover gift, you do avoid the income tax on the donated portion of your required minimum distribution. If you are over 72 years old, you can donate up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to the Foundation without triggering any federal income taxes.

A Gift from Your Will

By including the Foundation in your will or other estate plans, you generously ensure that the Foundation’s mission and programs will continue for generations to come. A bequest is one of the simplest ways to make a planned gift to the Foundation. Your will may designate a dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, specific property, or the remainder of your estate. Your bequest may be contingent upon other events outlined in your will.

DAF Giving

Create bright futures for students and families in your Stevenson community by making a gift from your Donor-Advised Fund. DAFs can be an easy and flexible way to manage your giving and help you achieve your strategic philanthropic goals.
